CAROLINA SHORES, NC (WWAY) — A home in Carolina Shores was destroyed in an overnight fire.
Firefighters responded to the blaze on Lakeview Court just after midnight Wednesday morning.
Units were on the scene in minutes, finding the home fully engulfed with flames shooting 20 feet into the air and up into the trees.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control in about 20 minutes, but the one-story brick residence was completely destroyed. Fortunately the home’s single occupant and his dog escaped without injury and he is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The Brunswick County Fire Marshal’s Office is helping to determine cause of the fire.
Fortunately there were no injuries in the blaze.
